Telemundo announced the nominees for the 2019 Latin American Music Awards on Wednesday morning (Sept. 4), with Ozuna leading for the second consecutive year with nine nominations, Billboard exclusively reveals.
The Puerto Rican artist is followed by Bad Bunny and Romeo Santos with eight nods each; Anuel AA with seven nominations; and Banda MS with five. Daddy YankeeMalumaLuis FonsiSebastian YatraT3R Elementoand Marc Anthony each landed four nominations this year.
In the tradition of the American Music Awards, the Latin AMAs pay tribute to the top Latin artists in the market today, with fans voting for the ultimate winners.
Ten acts are nominated for artist of the year, including Ozuna, Bad Bunny, Maluma, Romeo Santos, J Balvin, Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, Christian Nodal, Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee and Karol G. Bad Bunny’s X 100Pre, Ozuna’s Aura, Anuel AA’s Real Hasta La MuerteLuis Fonsi’s VIDA and Santana’s Africa Speaks are up for album of the year. Six of the hottest artists of the moment are in the running for new artist of the year: Sech, RosalĂ­a, Darell, Paulo Londra, Lunay and Jhay Cortez.
